University Education in Ukraine in Conditions of Russian Aggression
Resumen
The article examines the peculiarities of organizing and delivering education at Ukrainian universities in the context of Russian aggression. The purpose of the study was to analyze the transformations in the educational process of higher education institutions in Ukraine under wartime conditions and to identify the main challenges and prospects for their development. The study is based on a qualitative analytical approach, including the methods of analysis, synthesis, comparison, and generalization of scientific sources and empirical data. It is shown that, during the war, the organization and delivery of education at Ukrainian universities have undergone significant changes due to security risks, destruction of infrastructure, and forced displacement of participants in the educational process. As a result, the vast majority of higher education institutions have switched to distance learning, while some have implemented blended learning formats combining online and face-to-face instruction. The findings indicate that the effective organization of education under wartime conditions requires appropriate technical resources, stable internet access, and well-developed digital competencies among both students and teachers. At the same time, a significant number of participants in the educational process still face difficulties in adapting to distance and blended learning formats, with teachers demonstrating a lower level of adaptation compared to students. It is concluded that distance and blended learning will remain relevant in Ukraine in the post-war period due to ongoing digital transformation. These conditions necessitate comprehensive reforms of the higher education system aimed at improving the quality of education, developing digital competencies, and integrating international, particularly European, experience.
