Economía circular y cadenas de suministro

Resumen

La creciente importancia de la economía circular como modelo para afrontar distintos desafíos ambientales y de sostenibilidad genera gran interés académico por su integración en las cadenas de suministro. Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la evolución de la producción científica y las perspectivas de investigación sobre la economía circular y las cadenas de suministro. Se presentan los resultados de un estudio bibliométrico, en el que se implementaron herramientas como R-Studio, Bibliometrix, Tree of Science y Gephi para el procesamiento de 2358 registros bibliográficos, recuperados de Scopus y Web of Science, entre enero del 2013 a enero del 2025. Entre los resultados principales, se resalta un crecimiento promedio anual de la producción científica del 19,17 %, la hegemonía investigativa del Reino Unido, el reconocimiento de diferentes tendencias y futuras líneas de estudio, como la identificación de tres perspectivas de investigación: 1) convergencia entre Industria 4.0 y economía circular en contextos industriales, 2) implementación de modelos de negocio circulares y 3) economía circular en las pérdidas de sistemas alimentarios. Los análisis revelan la existencia de brechas de adopción e interoperabilidad sistémica en la cadena de suministro de países desarrollados y en vía de desarrollo, así como la oportunidad de avanzar en investigaciones que integren tecnologías emergentes con un enfoque crítico en la sostenibilidad ambiental y social dentro de la toma de decisiones estratégicas.
