La relegitimación del consumo de cannabis: perspectivas persistentes y emergentes desde el punto de vista de la bioética de la intervención
Resumen
Este artículo analiza la re-legitimación del cannabis a la luz de la Bioética de Intervención (BI), examinando la trayectoria histórica de la planta en su interacción con la humanidad, así como los impactos de la criminalización global, la cual, mediante un proceso de jerarquización étnico-racial, continúa subordinando diversas formas de vida y de saberes. Desde una perspectiva descriptiva de los problemas emergentes, el enfoque bioético se orienta hacia los impactos de descubrimientos recientes, como el papel del sistema endocannabinoide en diversos procesos fisiológicos, en particular el actual proceso de re-legitimación de ciertos usos del cannabis. En cuanto a los problemas persistentes, la BI ayuda a comprender a los conflictos históricos relacionados con la deslegitimación de los usos del cannabis en el siglo XX, especialmente en lo que respecta a sus efectos sobre la vulnerabilidad y la estigmatización. Desde una perspectiva prescriptiva, el estudio subraya la necesidad urgente de superar el prohibicionismo contra el cannabis, proponiendo valores que promuevan, sobre una base de justicia social e igualdad de oportunidades, elecciones conscientes que permitan a los sujetos fomentar una nueva relación con la psicoactividad, con las propiedades terapéuticas del cannabis y con su potencial para la libertad individual y el bienestar colectivo.
